Participate with L'Arche Clinton


We welcome each opportunity to introduce people to the life, mission, and spirit of The Arch/ L’Arche Clinton. You may have an interest in working with people who have disabilities, a spiritual resonance with The Arch’s vision of mutuality and solidarity with persons who are marginalized, a desire to immerse yourself in community, or a sense that there must be something more to life. We’re eager to hear from you! There are several ways to participate at The Arch/L’Arche Clinton:

  • Be an assistant. Consider committing a year or more to living-in or living out in our L’Arche community. To learn more about life as an assistant, please click on becoming an assistant.
  • Volunteer. You can be a friend to our local L’Arche community. To volunteer, please click on volunteer.
  • Donate. Become a partner in building a strong network for The Arch/ L’Arche Clinton community, and extend the values and vision of L’Arche in society. Please click on our donate page.
Larche Clinton
Known as The Arch, the L'Arche Community in Clinton, Iowa was founded in 1974 by Sr. Marjorie Wisor, OSF, a Clinton Franciscan. It is now home to about 20 Core Members and 12 Assistants, make it one of the largest L'Arche Communities in the Midwest.

L'Arche enables people with and without disabilities to share their lives in communities of faith and friendship. Community members are transformed through relationships of mutuality, respect, and companionship as they live, work, pray, and play together.
